OncoIntelligence Journal is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. The journal expects editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher to uphold integrity, transparency, accountability, and respect throughout the submission, review, and publication process.
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors must submit original work that has not been previously published and is not under consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts must accurately present the methods, results, and interpretation of the work. Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, inappropriate image manipulation, duplicate publication, and misleading reporting are not acceptable.
All listed authors must have made a substantial scholarly contribution to the work and must approve the final version of the manuscript and its submission to the journal. Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.
Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, or academic conflicts of interest that could influence the work or its interpretation. All sources of funding and relevant support must also be declared.
Where research involves human participants, human materials, human data, or animals, authors must state that the study was conducted in accordance with applicable ethical standards and approved by an appropriate ethics committee or institutional review board. When required, authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained.
Authors are responsible for the accuracy of citations, references, tables, figures, supplementary material, and underlying data. Where relevant, authors should retain original data and be prepared to provide clarification or supporting documentation upon request.
Authorship and Contributorship
Authorship should reflect substantial intellectual contribution to the conception, design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, drafting, or critical revision of the manuscript. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all eligible contributors are included as authors, that no inappropriate authors are listed, and that all authors have reviewed and approved the submitted and accepted versions of the manuscript.
Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission must be explained in writing and approved by the editorial office. The journal may require written confirmation from all authors before such changes are accepted.
Plagiarism, Duplicate Submission, and Data Integrity
The journal does not accept plagiarism in any form. Submitted manuscripts may be screened for textual similarity before or during editorial review. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized material, duplicate publication, manipulated data, manipulated images, or fabricated results may be rejected immediately or, if already published, may be corrected or retracted.
Submission of the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time is considered unethical and is not permitted.
Use of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Tools
Authors who use generative AI or AI-assisted tools in the preparation of a manuscript must disclose such use transparently in the manuscript or cover letter, as appropriate. AI tools may assist with language improvement or formatting, but authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, interpretation, citations, and integrity of all submitted content. AI tools must not be listed as authors.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, evidence-based, and timely assessments. Reviewers must keep manuscripts confidential and must not use unpublished information obtained through peer review for personal advantage.
Reviewers should declare any conflicts of interest that may affect their impartiality and should decline review when they are unable to provide an unbiased assessment. Reviewers should alert the editor to any substantial similarity between the manuscript under review and other known works, as well as any concerns regarding plagiarism, data integrity, unethical research, or redundant publication.
Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for ensuring an impartial, confidential, and academically sound editorial process. Editorial decisions are made on the basis of scientific merit, relevance, originality, and ethical integrity, without discrimination based on nationality, gender, institutional affiliation, ethnicity, religion, political beliefs, or other non-scholarly considerations.
Editors must manage conflicts of interest appropriately, preserve reviewer confidentiality where applicable, and take reasonable action when ethical concerns are raised about a submitted or published manuscript.
Complaints, Misconduct, and Investigations
Allegations of plagiarism, authorship disputes, fabricated data, duplicate publication, unethical research, reviewer misconduct, or editorial misconduct are taken seriously. The journal will assess concerns carefully and may request explanations, documentation, institutional clarification, or additional review where necessary.
If a breach of publication ethics is confirmed, the journal may take corrective action, including manuscript rejection, publication of a correction, expression of concern, retraction, notification of institutions, or other appropriate action depending on the seriousness of the case.
