OncoIntelligence Journal

For Authors

OncoIntelligence Journal publishes high-quality scholarly work in oncology, translational cancer research, molecular oncology, pathology, biomarkers, artificial intelligence in oncology, and precision medicine. The journal welcomes manuscripts that are scientifically rigorous, clearly written, ethically conducted, and relevant to its scope. All submissions must be written in academic English and submitted through the journal’s online submission system. References must be prepared in AMA style.

Before You Begin

Submission of a manuscript to OncoIntelligence Journal implies that the work described has not been published previously, is not under consideration elsewhere, and has been approved by all authors and, where applicable, by the responsible authorities at the institution where the work was carried out. The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript and agree to its submission. Authors are expected to ensure the accuracy of all data, tables, figures, references, and statements before submission. Manuscripts that do not conform to the journal’s requirements may be returned for technical revision before peer review.

Submission

All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. The submitting author should upload the manuscript file, cover letter, and any supplementary files required for editorial assessment. Authors should ensure that all parts of the submission are complete before final submission.

Types of Paper

OncoIntelligence Journal currently accepts Original Articles and Review Articles. Original Articles should present novel findings from experimental, clinical, observational, molecular, computational, or translational studies relevant to oncology and related biomedical sciences. Review Articles should provide a critical, up-to-date, and well-organized synthesis of the literature on an important topic within the journal’s scope. Review manuscripts should not be merely descriptive; they should evaluate evidence, highlight current knowledge, identify gaps, and offer scholarly interpretation.

Preparation

Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word using clear and consistent formatting. The text should be written in formal academic English and organized in a logical and readable manner. Pages should be numbered, and section headings should be used clearly.

Title Page

The title page should include the full title of the manuscript, the full names of all authors, their institutional affiliations, and the name, email address, and affiliation of the corresponding author. ORCID identifiers may be included where available.

Abstract and Keywords

Each manuscript should include an abstract and 3 to 6 keywords. The abstract should summarize the purpose and main content of the manuscript in a concise and informative manner.

Content of Original Articles

Original Articles should report new and scientifically sound research findings. They should normally include the following sections: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion. The Introduction should explain the background, rationale, and objective of the study. The Materials and Methods section should describe the study design, participants or materials, procedures, measurements, and statistical analysis with sufficient detail for understanding and reproducibility. The Results section should present the findings clearly and logically, without unnecessary repetition of data shown in tables or figures. The Discussion should interpret the findings, compare them with previous studies, explain their significance, and address limitations where relevant. The Conclusion should summarize the principal message of the study and its scientific or clinical relevance. Where appropriate, Original Articles should also include statements on ethical approval, informed consent, funding, conflicts of interest, author contributions, acknowledgments, and data availability.

Content of Review Articles

Review Articles should provide a critical and organized analysis of the literature on an important subject within the journal’s scope. They should normally include Introduction, Main Review Sections with Clear Subheadings, Discussion or Critical Synthesis, and Conclusion. The Introduction should define the topic, explain its importance, and state the purpose of the review. The main body should be divided into logical thematic sections that summarize and critically evaluate the relevant evidence. Review Articles should highlight major advances, ongoing controversies, limitations in the literature, and areas requiring further investigation. The concluding section should synthesize the main insights and explain their relevance to research, clinical practice, or future directions. Where applicable, authors should describe the search strategy, databases used, keywords, and selection approach, particularly if the review has a systematic or semi-systematic design.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text. Each table should have a concise title, and each figure should have a clear legend. Authors are responsible for the quality, clarity, and accuracy of all visual material submitted with the manuscript.

Abbreviations and Units

Abbreviations should be defined at first mention in the text and used consistently thereafter. Standard international units should be used where appropriate.

Reference Style

References must be prepared in AMA style. Citations should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they first appear in the text, and the reference list should follow the same numerical order. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all references are accurate, complete, and formatted consistently according to AMA requirements.

Cover Letter

A cover letter must be submitted with each manuscript. The cover letter should briefly explain the title of the manuscript, the article type, and the importance of the work. It should clearly state why the manuscript is suitable for publication in OncoIntelligence Journal and how it fits the aims and scope of the journal. The letter should also confirm that the manuscript is original, has not been published previously, is not under consideration by another journal, and has been approved by all authors. Where applicable, the cover letter may also include a brief statement on ethical approval, conflicts of interest, funding, or any special considerations relevant to editorial assessment. The corresponding author should sign or submit the cover letter on behalf of all authors.

Ethics in Publishing

Authors must conduct and report research in accordance with accepted ethical standards. Work involving human participants, human tissues, identifiable personal data, or animals must comply with institutional, national, and international ethical requirements. Authors must provide a clear ethics statement in the manuscript, including the name of the approving ethics committee or review board and the approval number where available. Where required, authors must also confirm that informed consent was obtained from participants or their legal representatives. The journal does not accept plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, or other forms of publication misconduct.

Declaration of Competing Interest

All authors must disclose any financial, institutional, academic, professional, or personal relationships that could be viewed as influencing the work or its interpretation. A conflict of interest statement must be included in the manuscript. If there are no conflicts of interest, authors should state clearly that they have no conflicts of interest to declare.

Authorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work, the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data, or the drafting or critical revision of the manuscript. All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission and publication. Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately. Any request to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission must be explained in writing and approved by the editorial office.

Use of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies

If authors use generative artificial intelligence or AI-assisted tools during manuscript preparation, this use must be disclosed transparently. Such tools may be used only for limited assistance, such as language editing or formatting support. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, citations, interpretation, and integrity of all submitted content. AI tools must not be listed as authors.

Copyright and Licensing

Upon acceptance, articles published in OncoIntelligence Journal are subject to the journal’s copyright and licensing policy. Authors are responsible for ensuring that any copyrighted third-party material included in the manuscript has been reproduced with appropriate permission. The copyright and licensing terms applicable to published articles will be stated clearly on the journal website and in the final published version of each article.

Open Access

OncoIntelligence Journal provides open access to its published content. Published articles are made freely available to readers through the journal website in order to support the broad dissemination of scientific knowledge and to promote equitable access to cancer research.

Article Processing Charges

OncoIntelligence Journal does not charge any submission fee, article processing charge, or publication fee. Authors may submit, revise, and publish accepted manuscripts without payment.

Reporting Guidelines

Authors are encouraged to follow recognized reporting guidelines appropriate to their study design in order to improve clarity, completeness, and transparency. These may include CONSORT for randomized trials, STROBE for observational studies, PRISMA for systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and ARRIVE for animal studies. Where relevant, authors should indicate adherence to the appropriate guideline in the manuscript.

Data Sharing and Reproducibility

Authors are encouraged to retain the data underlying their work and to provide sufficient methodological detail to support understanding and reproducibility. Where relevant, manuscripts should include a Data Availability Statement indicating whether supporting data are publicly available, available upon reasonable request, or subject to restrictions.

Funding Statement

All sources of financial support for the work must be declared clearly in the manuscript. Authors should identify grant support, institutional funding, or any other financial assistance relevant to the study. If the work received no external funding, this should be stated explicitly.

Ethics Approval and Informed Consent

For research involving humans or animals, the manuscript must include an ethics statement identifying the approving committee or review board and, where available, the approval number. Where informed consent was required, authors must state that it was obtained. If ethical approval or informed consent was not required, the reason should be explained clearly.

Appeals and Complaints

Authors may appeal an editorial decision if they believe that it was affected by a significant factual misunderstanding, procedural concern, or unfair assessment. Appeals must be submitted in writing and should provide a clear justification. The journal also accepts complaints related to editorial conduct, peer review, communication, delays, or publication ethics. All appeals and complaints are reviewed confidentially and fairly by the editorial team.

Submission Checklist

Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that the work fits the aims and scope of the journal, that it is original and not under review elsewhere, and that all authors have approved the submission. The manuscript should include a title page, abstract, keywords, main text, tables and figures where applicable, references formatted in AMA style, and a cover letter. Conflict of interest disclosures, funding information, and ethics statements should be included when required.
