Corrections, Retractions, Complaints, and Appeals

OncoIntelligence Journal is committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record. When significant concerns arise regarding a submitted or published manuscript, the journal will assess the matter carefully and take appropriate action in a fair, transparent, and proportionate manner.

Corrections

If a published article contains an error that does not invalidate the overall results or conclusions but affects clarity, accuracy, citation, author information, or interpretation, the journal may publish a correction notice. Corrections will be clearly linked to the original article and will describe the nature of the change.

Retractions

A published article may be retracted when there is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, that the article contains plagiarism, fabricated or falsified data, unethical research, serious authorship misconduct, duplicate publication, or other major breaches of publication ethics.

Retraction notices will be published in a transparent manner and linked to the original article. The journal will distinguish retraction from correction and will not remove published content except in exceptional legal or safety-related circumstances.

Expressions of Concern

Where serious concerns have been raised but the available evidence is incomplete or an investigation is ongoing, the journal may publish an expression of concern. This is intended to alert readers while the matter is being examined further.

Complaints

Complaints regarding editorial conduct, peer review, delays, communication, publication ethics, or procedural fairness may be submitted to the editorial office in writing. Complaints should be specific, respectful, and supported by relevant details.

The journal will review complaints in confidence and respond within a reasonable timeframe. Where necessary, the matter may be escalated to the Editor-in-Chief, publisher, or an appropriate oversight body.

Appeals

Authors may appeal an editorial decision if they believe a significant misunderstanding, factual error, or procedural issue affected the outcome. Appeals must be submitted in writing and should provide a clear rationale supported by evidence. Appeals that simply disagree with reviewer criticism without substantive justification may not be considered.

The journal may seek additional editorial assessment or external advice before reaching a final decision on the appeal. The decision reached after appeal review is final.

Post-Publication Discussion

The journal welcomes responsible, evidence-based scholarly discussion of published work. Concerns raised after publication will be evaluated fairly and may result in clarification, correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the circumstances.
